Explore the Trails at Mohican Adventures


This great outdoor adventure park is a fantastic place to bring the family! You can go for a hike, climb a rock wall, explore an archery range, and even try your hand at fishing. There's something for everyone, and it's located just a few miles down the road from Mount Vernon.

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course


Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, located in Lexington, Ohio, is a classic road-racing course that's perfect for a family outing. They host a variety of racing series, including NASCAR and IndyCar events.

The track sits on 330 acres of rolling hills, and is about 2.4 miles in length, with 15 turns. The race course, considered one of the most competitive in the country, is a driver's track, where technical skills have a distinct advantage over horsepower. The track can be altered to create a second layout, with a 2.26 mile track and 13 turns.

When you visit the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, you'll find grandstand seating, as well as hillside seating. They also have plenty of souvenir and concession stands for you to enjoy. The main concession stand features great food and a patio seating area with an excellent view of the race track.

Tour the Knox County Historical Museum


There's plenty to learn about the area's history at The Knox County Historical Museum. This museum is home to a variety of exhibitions, including the world's largest collection of hand tools. You can also explore the fascinating Mount Vernon collection, which includes items such as original furniture, paintings, and even a piece of the wooden staircase.
